TAKE A WALK ONCE A DAY

In our busy schedules, it’s often easy to forget our own body and mind. Taking a walk combines these two things perfectly: while walking, you will be able to keep your head and mind clear while doing something nice for your body. Make it your goal to take a walk once a day.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW

For many, the older they get, the more they forget what it’s like to learn something new. But the sensation of achieving new goals and studying is super satisfying! Try to learn something new at least once a month - be it a new language, new recipes or a new route to work…

MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

One thing that should be on everyone’s New Year’s resolution list is this: make time for yourself. Enjoy the comfort and warmth of your own home. Be good to yourself. Do something just for you once in a while. You’ll see: The more relaxed you are, the better your life will be overall!

FOLLOW THESE RULES TO WORK WITH YOUR RESOLUTIONS

S - Keep your New Year's resolutions Specific. Be clear about what, where, why and when you want to achieve your New Year's resolution.

M - Your resolutions should be Measurable. If you want to lose weight, don’t just make it your goal to have lower numbers on the scale, but set a measurable goal of how much weight you want to lose in what period of time.

A - Make your New Year's Resolutions Attainable. It's always good to set ambitious goals. But make sure that they can be broken up in achievable steps along the way. Otherwise your resolutions might just seem too big to handle from the beginning.

R - Keep the resolutions for this year Realistic. Visiting Mars will probably not happen for you in the next year, but visiting three cities in your home country is definitely on the map!

T - It’s always a good idea to make your resolutions Timely and set time limits for yourself. "I want to be a professional guitar player this year" is harder to keep than "By February, I want to know at least the basic chords"!

AVOID THESE MISTAKES WHEN SETTING YOUR GOALS

DON’T CHANGE YOUR GOALS TOO OFTEN

Writing down your goals has a major effect on your mindset. Be clear and specific about what you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve it from the beginning. It always helps to make your New Year’s resolutions visible - for example, pin them to the side of your fridge!

DON'T BASE YOUR GOALS ON SOMEONE ELSE

Often, society or the people around us keep telling us what to do. Make sure that your resolutions are coming from within you. If you feel comfortable with yourself, it’s easier to keep your goals. Only set goals that you actually want to change about yourself and the way you’re living!

YOU’RE NOT ALONE IN KEEPING YOUR GOALS

Be clear about one thing from the beginning: you are not alone. It’s easier to keep your goals when you tell your friends and family about it. The people that surround you are happy to help you with staying on track! Maybe you even have similar goals that you can approach together?
